Time vs Laplace-Domain Response Plotter

Visualize how Laplace-domain transfer functions behave in the time domain. No coding knowledge required! Simply enter a transfer function or choose a preset, then click "Plot Response" to see the result.

G(s) = 1/(s² + 2s + 5)
Format: start:step:end (e.g., 0:0.1:10 means from 0 to 10 sec with step 0.1)
First Order (1/(s+1))
Underdamped 2nd Order
Critically Damped
Overdamped 2nd Order

How to Use This Tool

  • Transfer Function: Enter in terms of 's' (Laplace variable). Use ^ for power, * for multiplication, and / for division.
  • Examples:
    • 1/(s+2) for a first-order system
    • 1/(s^2+3*s+9) for a second-order system
    • (s+1)/(s^2+5*s+6) for a system with a zero
  • Time Range: Specify as start:step:end (0:0.1:10 = from 0 to 10 seconds with 0.1 second step)
  • Input Signal: Choose the type of input to apply to the system
  • Click "Plot Response" to generate the time-domain plot
